- If the system is behaving otherwise normally (no weird crashes etc.) I'd say
- it's probably just a loose connection somewhere between the RGB port and the
- monitor. If the green video signal is not connected to the monitor the display
- will take on a purple (strictly magenta) hue like this. If this is indeed the
- problem adjusting the green component of any palette entries should have no
- visible effect.

- So test the integrity of the monitor cable using a multimeter and/or
- substitute cables to try to isolate the problem. If the cable is not at fault
- check the PCB for dry joints (gently wiggling the RGB socket on the PCB should
- make such faults visible).
